How Does An Edmund Rice School Respond To This Vocation?
When the 40 Hour Famine is on students have the option to sign up if they wish to. However during the rest of the year St Patrick's College offers many options for the students to attend such as: Patties Van breakfast & Dinner, Patties Garden & nursing home visits. When the students reach year 11 & 12 they have the option to go on an immersion to India & East Timor. This allows the students to see first hand the horrible things that happen in these countries and lets them build schools and comfort people to try and make a difference.
How Does St Patrick's Promote Respect For The Dignity Of Each Person?
When the students at St Patrick's College go to the Paddies Van breakfast & Dinner they understand how those people are feeling. They try to comfort them and talk to them and just overall make friends. When the homeless have a friend to talk it means the world to them which is why St Patrick's College motivates students to participate in these activities. Because it does make a difference.
